Green Juice

The fascination with green juice is nothing new, but the rapid adoption of new-age juice cleanses has brought the concept to the forefront of today's health vernacular.  Everyone in the community thinks they know and/or make the BEST one - and that's not a claim I will attempt to make here.

Instead, I present to you a green smoothie that's SO good, easy to make, and cheaper than anything you can find at your local health food store. It was my answer to finding a vegetable heavy, high quality protein smoothie that still tasted good and met strict low-carb requirements.

It's the perfect way to start your day - all you need is an ordinary blender and the following ingredients:

  • 1 to 2 cups unsweetened almond milk
  • 1/2 banana
  • 1/2 pear
  • 1/2 avocado
  • 50g blueberries
  • 1 handful spinach
  • 5 frozen brussel sprouts
  • 3 florets of raw cauliflower
  • Sprinkle of cinnamon
  • 1 scoop of nonfat greek yogurt (skip if you're vegan)
  • 1 scoop Trader Joe's Super Green Drink
  • 1 scoop Vega Sport Vanilla Protein
Nutritional Information (based on 2,000 calorie diet)

  • 12g of fibre (48%)
  • 36g of protein (70%)
